I’ve now got my hands on a set of 5 new zombies models, with over 35 animations! Each of these will add a new depth to the system, allowing for variation and with some additional textures – a collection of about unique 15 zombies!!
One change we are making is to give the eyes a little more glow, this is a nod in the direction of the old “Nazi Zombies” from World At War. Whether or not we get some smoke particles will come down to our graphics budget.
We’ve got the animations in for walking and idle, lots of fun around Unity’s animation controller but it seems to work well now – the key for us was to modify the speed of the animation based on the zombie speed, only moving to idle when the zombie is almost completely still.
